Experience

There may be a number of reasons why a student is having trouble learning. As a tutor, my goal is to help students gain critical thinking skills and develop better study habits. I believe that honing these skills is key to truly understanding a subject for future success. My methods of tutoring include listening to my students and figuring out the true obstacles that they're facing when they have trouble learning a subject. My areas of expertise are generally centered around teenager and adult courses, and I am qualified to tutor in many subjects. Philosophy is my favorite, but I can also teach in subjects such as Theology and Religion (particularly the Christian/Catholic denomination), Writing, Physics and Natural Science, Math, and Computer Science and Engineering. I can also help with general test preparation for the ACT, PSAT, and SAT tests. I am qualified to teach these subjects through my various degrees and certifications. I earned my Master of Arts in Philosophy while attending Holy Apostles College and Seminary, as well as a Master of Theological Studies while attending the University of Dallas. I also have a Bachelor of Science in Physics and Engineering from Seattle Pacific University. I have certifications in MOOC Development and Philosophical Counseling. I am also certified to teach online. In my free time, I teach both physical fitness and self-defense courses at the local gym. I also enjoy spending time taking care of my family, woodworking, participating in martial arts, and writing.
